Samuel Barber and Johannes Brahms, two of the greatest craftsmen of melody ever, are brought together for one night of music that will stimulate the full range of human emotion. This program includes Barber’s moving Adagio for Strings, and his sunnier and more lyrical Violin Concerto. The evening concludes with one of Brahms’s most optimistic and joyful works, his Symphony No. 2.
